Everything about setting up and using FableVPN, in plain words.

Getting started

  1. Install FableVPN from the App Store. It runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 16 or later.
  2. Open it and tap Start free trial. There’s no sign-up and no payment.
  3. Tap the round button. The first time, iOS asks to add a VPN configuration: tap Allow, then confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.

When it says Connected, you’re protected. Tap Disconnect on the globe to stop.

Choosing a location

Tap the location card under the button to see every country, with how quickly each one answers you. Fastest location picks the quickest one for you and is best for everyday use. Pick a country when a site or service is only available there. Today you can connect through Germany (Frankfurt) and United Kingdom (London), with more on the way.

Smart mode and All traffic

Smart sends sites and apps from your own country directly, so banking and local shopping keep working, and protects everything else. Local sites don’t use your data.

All traffic sends everything through FableVPN, local sites too. Use it if you want every connection protected, or if a site doesn’t work in Smart mode.

Change the mode by tapping Mode on the VPN tab, or in Settings.

Widgets and Control Center

You can turn FableVPN on and off without opening the app:

  • Home Screen or Lock Screen widget (iOS 17 or later): touch and hold the Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit, then add FableVPN.
  • Control Center (iOS 18 or later): open Control Center, touch and hold an empty space, tap Add a Control, and choose FableVPN.
  • Action Button (iOS 18 or later, on iPhones that have one): go to Settings, Action Button, choose Controls, and pick FableVPN.

These connect to the last location you used. Open the app once first, so there is a connection to start.

Free trial, Premium and data

Every device can try FableVPN free once, for 3 days with 2 GB of data. Nothing is charged when it ends. To keep going, subscribe to Premium on the Premium tab: $1.99 a month, with 20 GB of data every month.

Data counts what goes through our servers. Your remaining data shows on the VPN tab. Need more? Add 10 GB, 25 GB or 50 GB of extra data on the Premium tab. It never expires, and what you don’t use carries over.

When your data runs out, the VPN stops connecting until your subscription renews or you add extra data.

Using Premium on other devices

On an iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple ID, just open FableVPN: Premium turns on by itself. If it doesn’t, tap I already have Premium, then Restore from the App Store.

For a device on another Apple ID:

  1. On a device that has Premium, open Settings, then Devices, and tap Add a device to get a code.
  2. On the new device, install FableVPN, tap I already have Premium, then Enter a code.

To remove a device you no longer use, tap it in Settings, Devices. It stops using your plan and can’t connect again until you add it back.

Cancelling and restoring

To cancel Premium, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose FableVPN. Premium stays on until the end of the month you paid for.

If you paid but Premium isn’t on, tap Restore purchases on the Premium tab. If it’s still off, contact support with your support ID.

Refunds are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

If something isn’t working

The VPN won’t connect

Check that your internet works without the VPN, then try another location. If it still fails, set Mode to All traffic and try again.

A local site or app doesn’t work

Use Smart mode. It sends sites from your own country directly, so banks and local services see you as usual.

The VPN turned off by itself

iOS allows one VPN at a time, so starting another VPN app turns FableVPN off. Tap the button again, or check that your data hasn’t run out on the VPN tab.

The app asks to add a VPN configuration again

That happens after the configuration was removed in Settings, General, VPN & Device Management. Allow it, and FableVPN sets itself up again.

Deleting your data

Open Settings in the app and tap Delete my data. That closes your account and removes your devices and the app’s activity. If you had Premium, cancel it with Apple too, since deleting your data doesn’t stop the subscription. Our no-logs policy lists what we keep and what deleting removes.

Contacting support

Write to [email protected], or tap Support in the app, which fills in what we need.

Include your support ID, from Settings in the app, such as FV-7K3M-Q9TX. It’s how we find your account, and it doesn’t say who you are.
